As of now we do know that several Rosenwald Schools existed in Shelby County Tennessee.Our research,however, has not revealed if Julius Rosenwald had any influence in the creation of the Presidents Island One Room Schoolhouse. After reading this article, answer the following question:

  • What is the legacy of Julius Rosenwald?

  1. Julius Rosenwald took up the cause of long-neglected education for blacks. By the late 1920's, one in three rural black pupils in 15 states were attending a new school built with seed money, architectural advice and supplies from the Rosenwald fund.

  3. He help out the South, giving the black schools money to build a better school.

  4. i think that he really cared about the blacks in the south. he really helped them out as much as he possibly could.

  5. He devoted most of his time to donate millions of dollars to black schools. He was inspired by Booker T. Washington and served on the Board of Directors of the Tuskegee Institute.

  6. He put the time in to donate money to blacks schools and he cared about the blacks in the south.
